Your new company
This company is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fasteners and joining products. While they have a significant presence in most Countries, North America is the missing link and they are looking to expand significantly over the next five years. The markets they serve our Automotive, Industrial & Construction however they will initially focus on Construction while they expand in the US & Canada. They are now looking for Quality & Application Engineers & Laboratory Technicians to oversee testing of their products, as they grow.
Your new role
The successful Quality & Application Engineer, you will provide advice to various external customers like craftsmen, distributors, roofers, and manufacturers, offering product suggestions and ensuring compliance with construction standards and regulations. Your role includes supporting project planning, resolving technical issues, and creating preliminary static measurements. You will assist with product changes, participate in static reviews, and handle complaints, offering technical support and preparing statements on application complaints. Additionally, you will develop training content, contribute to customer-specific product developments, and plan and execute various tests. Monitoring complaints, participating in risk analyses, and optimizing the quality strategy are also key tasks. You will ensure compliance with customer specifications and official requirements, maintain and develop management systems, and regularly report quality-related key figures and unusual events to the VP Technology Americas and QM management. Other tasks and projects may be assigned by management as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal Quality & Applications Engineer will have experience in quality audits, properties testing, writing technical reports, and interacting with customers on daily technical requests. Familiarity with approvals like Miami-Dade, ICC, and FM is a plus but not required. You should be able to explain technical information to non-technical customers and have a willingness to continually enhance your knowledge to improve product quality. A bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil or Mechanical) or a related field would be ideal. Finally, experience testing Fastener products would be highly advantageous.
